    明朝嘉靖年间，就像最能体现中国特色的切片标本，剧作本身达到了雅俗共赏，拍出了史诗气质，难得见到一部各方面都达到八十分及以上的中国电视剧作品，而其中的权谋部分，我只想说，与人斗这件事情，全世界都得叫中国人一声爸爸。
    工作之后重温和学生时代观看，心情和感受完全不一样。剧情和台词非常有水准，镜头的运用也令人惊叹，细想起来许多情景都令人拍案叫绝，背景音乐有不少交响乐和古典钢琴曲，也毫无违和感。结局嘉靖所作长江和黄河的比喻真是妙啊。编剧功底深厚，诸多角色复杂立体，演员的演技非常棒，王劲松全剧最佳。
