- 断案洗冤是剧情的重点，同时也把中国官场的特色表现的是淋漓尽致；剧中作恶之人虽然可恨，但更有看点的是那些善良的围观群众。虽说比较注重细节但剧集还是给人拖沓的感觉，在细枝末节上浪费了太多时间。
- 民间案看着欣慰，官场案看着心累。宋慈自打做了京官之后，处处碰壁，步履维艰，京城的水之浑，难以想象，这也是大宋气象将尽的表现。高潮在岳父案，升华在最终案，情节紧凑，步步紧逼，台词考究，词藻华丽，对戏节奏张弛有度，语气到位与角色气质情绪相符，宋刁二人的强强对抗极为出彩，群戏小人物大小官员你来我往好不热闹，官场小强吴淼水也很逗，真是国产良心剧
