Anissa is a modern Kartini (Indonesia's famous heroine), she inspires other young women to express their freedom: freedom of speech, freedom to do things men do, freedom of equality. Hanung's audacious approach in this movie deserves an accolade. It's hard to get away from society's wrath, to consider Indonesia is the most populous Muslim country.
